What is a Reading Room?
Our Reading Room is a bookstore with a study area in downtown Rockville across from the Town Center. Here you will find Bibles as well as the groundbreaking book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and biographies about Mary Baker Eddy, its author. The Reading Room is a place where you can ask questions about Christian Science. Everyone of any faith or no faith is welcome.
What's for sale?
In addition to the major books mentioned above, we offer Bible reference works and children's books for toddlers to teens.
Periodicals for sale include the weekly Christian Science Sentinel, monthly Christian Science Journal, and El Heraldo de la Ciencia Cristiana – all of which contain reports of healing through prayer.
Weekly Christian Science Bible Lessons are sold in several formats. The weekly print edition of the award-winning Christian Science Monitor news publication is also available.
What can you study?
In the study room, you can find various translations and other reference materials about the Bible, as well as copies of all the items that are sold by the Reading Room. A paired set of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures is marked with the Bible Lesson for study prior to each week’s Sunday service.
Resources on the computer include the digital weekly Bible Lesson, the daily edition of The Christian Science Monitor, the digitized monthly and weekly magazines, and other websites with information about Christian Science and Mary Baker Eddy.
